How Hood Suppression Systems Work

Hood suppression systems are installed within kitchen exhaust hoods, ducts, and cooking appliances. When a fire is detected, the system activates automatically to discharge a wet chemical agent directly over the fire source. This agent rapidly suppresses flames, cools hot surfaces, and forms a protective layer that prevents re-ignition.

Manual activation is also provided, allowing kitchen staff to activate the system immediately if required.

Automatic & Manual Activation

The system is equipped with heat-sensitive detection and manual pull stations, ensuring immediate response whether the fire is detected automatically or manually by staff.

Wet Chemical Discharge

Wet chemical agents are specifically formulated to combat grease and oil fires. The agent reacts with hot grease to create a foam-like blanket that cools the fire and cuts off oxygen supply.

Gas Shut-Off Integration

Upon system activation, the gas supply to cooking appliances is automatically shut off. This prevents additional fuel from feeding the fire and enhances overall system effectiveness.

Re-Ignition Prevention

By cooling hot surfaces and sealing the fuel source, the system significantly reduces the risk of re-ignition, ensuring the kitchen is safe after fire suppression.
